Good impact program

Supporting free time contributions for social good

An open source and social impact program sponsored by Columbia Road.

Why: Happy people

We enable Columbia Road's people to do good by contributing to initiatives that are close to their hearts and minds.

Where: We build a better world

We use our skills to make the world better by contributing to projects with positive social impact.

How: We help our people to blossom

We encourage our people to leverage their personal growth by learning new skills and delving into the unknown.

Open source software

Tools, libraries, hobby apps & more. All kinds of GitHub projects our employees deem worthy creating or contributing to. Or some bigger projects, all supported directly by Columbia Road.

Education enhanced

Education is the core of tomorrow's world. We want to enable our employees to make digital education even better as it is. Think user experience workshops for universities, digital design clubs for teachers or 'build your own webshop' courses for vocational schools.

More supporters, more funds

Let's bring fundraising into the 2020s. How can digital marketing and marketing technology help NGOs collect funds more efficiently and cost-effectively, and thus free up manpower for creating more impact on things that really matter.

Climate change

Protecting the climate is extremely important, and we're dying to do something about it. We're open to all kinds of creative solutions regarding how to put our expertise to use to give back to mother nature. Any ideas?

Suggest a climate change project

Good Impact Program is a way for me to create what I believe should exist and help those who are making things that matter — and being rewarded for that.

The facts

ProfessionalSkills

Use professional skills

We pay 15€/hour on top of regular salary for employees’ free time contributions that use their professional skills.

Balance

Keep the balance

We have a 30 hours per person monthly limit on how much is supported. It's meant to protect employees from overloading themselves with work.

Good

Aim for social good

Any project goes, as long as the outcome aims for social good. The work can be strategy, digital marketing, design, web development or something else. When possible, the impact should be shared with an open source license.

Work

This is not work

Columbia Road makes no IPR claims whatsoever regarding these contributions. In fact, we insist on employees taking their due credit for their efforts.

Partnerships

There's only so much we can do on our own. We wish to work with Non-Governmental Organisations and other actors willing to make a non-profit impact to make great things happen.
