Some people seem to find their calling and purpose early in their careers, for others, it’s a journey. I started using computers at a very young age which over time evolved from a hobby to a career in computer games. I studied engineering at Chalmers but never really fit in and could never find enough creative output there. So I left engineering for university studies in Philosophy and Theology. But when the opportunity to join a computer game company appeared, I realised I just had to go for it — a decision I have never regretted!
Everybody needs to find their skillset. Mine has always been the ability to see the bigger picture and connecting the dots to find new ways of approaching problems. I have always enjoyed working with tech, content and business whilst focusing on new concepts and breaking new ground.
Where have you earned your spurs?
I have worked my way from being a developer, to systems architecture, to project management, client management, business development, sales and general management. I have worked in various industries; from computer games to consulting and software, broadcast media, telecommunications, as well as innovation and design. Always in very commercial and client-centric roles. The last 8 years or so I’ve been working with service and product design at consultancies such as Fjord, Accenture and DDB.
Why Columbia Road?
Columbia Road fills a void in the market. We help clients grow from whatever their starting point is. I was really attracted by being able to help clients of virtually any size. To take them from where they are today, and make them better. To make them succeed.
I love our focus on speed, results and outcomes, always with a human-centric attitude. This is in the core of our culture, which shows in our work too.
Sampo, what will make our clients love Magnus?

What makes your heart beat a little faster?
“I spend most of my time with my family; seeing my two girls Inez and Lily develop, learn and grow is a gift.
I also really enjoy my morning bike rides to work. Silently zipping through beautiful parks on my way to work in central Stockholm is simply amazing. I also really enjoy fixing up the old house we live in using traditional techniques. Working with my hands and letting things take time offers a healthy balance to the high paced and sometimes abstract reality of a digital agency,” says Magnus.
