I studied at Aalto University, majoring in Finance and Entrepreneurship & Innovation Management. I also got an amazing opportunity to spend 4 years in Australia, where I completed Master’s degrees in Marketing and Sports Management.
Where have you earned your spurs?
I have worked in different consultative roles, helping companies measure and improve their sales, marketing and communication practices both at a strategic and a tactical level. I’m originally from a pure financial/business background, but quite quickly became passionate about technology once I realised what kind of opportunities it can provide for pretty much any organisation. I have also always been fascinated about numbers, and believe that all business decisions should be based on some real data, which is enabled in a much broader and more accurate way with the help of digital platforms and applications. As I am still not a tech expert myself, I’m very grateful for having been surrounded by top-level developers and data engineers and have always got help with solving and implementing even the most challenging tasks at hand.
I have also done a fair bit of sales in all my previous roles, which has given me a good understanding of the problems and needs companies have with their sales operations. This can mean everything from enabling the cooperation between sales, marketing and operational business divisions and designing sales processes to be more streamlined and efficient, to improving the customer experience throughout the sales channels and serving clients and prospects in the best possible way.

I was truly astonished by the impact Columbia Road has been able to generate in the Finnish market from the very beginning. I got a very positive feeling about the company culture already during the application process, and was quite curious to see how such an autonomous and self-directed way of working is actually implemented in practice, especially when the company is growing very fast. What makes your heart beat a little faster?
“Exercise and sports play a crucial role in my everyday life. I love running, and many good ideas for solving work-related problems have been generated on outdoor trails. I also practise Olympic weightlifting, which challenges my body and brain in a completely different way and has definitely increased my overall patience and belief in the power of small steps and gradual progress in achieving considerable results in the long-term.
My heart is also stolen by the two mini leopards (Bengal cats) I have at home. They have the ability to make me laugh every single day, and are also the best possible role models for enjoying life and not taking it too seriously.” says Nina.
