Anna_JumppanenHi Anna, How did you get good at what you do?

I’ve always been interested in many things so committing to one study path or profession never seemed that attractive to me. I come from a family of healthcare professionals, so I naturally became the black sheep of the family by choosing to study business and marketing. I chose the field because I figured that the acquired skills would be the most transformable and hence the least committing. It turns out that I was right. So far my skills, combined with my curiosity and passion for exploration, have led me to travel the world, living in multiple countries and working in various roles, companies and industries.

Where have you earned your spurs?

I started my digital journey by working for startups in Berlin. From there I moved to Sydney and worked for bigger publishers and technology owners such as LinkedIn. Before starting at Columbia Road, I dipped my toes in the non-profit industry by helping young Australians with mental health challenges – something that I feel very passionate about.

Why Columbia Road?

I believe that work should be enjoyable, and I know that it can be when you have the right company culture and when you surround yourself with fun and talented people. Columbia Road provides just that! Also, I’ve never been a fan of hierarchies and statuses, so I was curious to see how a completely flat organisation, without managers, could work in practice.

Eero, what will make our clients love Anna?

“Anna has the ability to understand both technology and commerce, which benefits our customers greatly. She has diverse international experience and an analytical mindset. She processes information quickly and also challenges ideas – bringing honest, new insights and viewpoints to projects. Customers and colleagues will find Anna not only professionally talented, but also easy to get along with as she is empathetic, funny, and has the ability to make people feel included,” says Eero Martela, General Manager at Columbia Road.

What makes your heart beat a little faster?

I love philosophy and discussing the biggest challenges of our time, as well as anthropology, psychology and, well, pretty much anything – preferably over a delicious meal and a bottle of red wine or two.

I also love travelling (like everyone else) and getting to know foreign cultures and languages. In my free time, I like to cook, play soccer and spend time with friends and family, preferably in nature and off screens.

How would you fancy working alongside Anna at Columbia Road? We're constantly looking for new skilful and nice people to join our crew! Take a peek at our open positions 👇
