Niina-ReponenHi Niina, How did you get good at what you do?

I developed a passion for business and marketing during my studies at the Aalto University School of Business. My interests led me to specialise in marketing and digitalisation, which is a sweet spot for someone who loves numbers and the more creative aspects of business.

Later in my professional career, I continued my studies at Harvard University in Boston. This strengthened my strategic thinking skills and widened my perspectives in many ways. I was lucky to be surrounded by brilliant people from different cultures and professional backgrounds. They were a great source of inspiration and learning for me.

Where have you earned your spurs?

I started my career in various roles in digital marketing both in B2C and B2B; designing, implementing, and analysing tactics across various digital channels. I developed extensive knowledge in fields such as websites, marketing automation, marketing analytics, and inbound marketing.

In the past few years, I have been focusing on leading digital transformation in a B2B technology environment. At Vaisala, I was globally heading eCommerce, as well as product marketing. In addition, I worked on developing the digital customer experience and digital sales processes.

I have spent most of my professional career in the U.S., which has been both an inspiring and demanding environment. This has been a brilliant opportunity for me to learn how things are done outside of Finland, and bring some of the best knowledge back home.

Several aspects resonated with me at Columbia Road. Being very passionate about digital transformation and results-driven marketing, Columbia Road aligned well with my professional interests. What makes your heart beat a little faster?

Food and travelling are my biggest passions. Cooking is my favourite way to relax - I love exploring new recipes, ingredients and ways to prepare food. Travelling, on the other hand, gives me endless inspiration and energy. I also enjoy running, yoga, and spending time in nature. I’ve always loved learning and often, you’ll find me studying new things – whether it’s creative design skills, MarTech tools, business models, or new languages.
