Henrik_Gripenberg_000 Hi Henrik, How did you get good at what you do?

Although I studied at Hanken School of Economics, I feel like most of my knowledge has developed from my work. As the marketing technology scene is something that is constantly changing, I feel like the main way of learning and keeping up with what I need to do is by following the trends. My eye for detail and interest towards the ecommerce landscape have also helped tremendously to become good at what I do.

 

Where have you earned your spurs?

While studying at Hanken I was drawn into the ecommerce world and decided to apply for an inhouse growth hacker position for a Swedish ecommerce company. There I learnt a lot of what I know today. After finishing my studies I continued to work as an inhouse growth hacker but now for a big Finnish media company where I further built on that knowledge.

From there, I decided that I wanted to try out the agency life, and so far I am happy with my choice. At my previous agency I worked with a lot of start-ups and scale-ups, which gave me a good perspective on how to work with limited budgets. Working on the client and agency side has given me great experience to apply to my current work.

Why Columbia Road?

Ever since I saw some of Columbia Road’s adverts a couple of years ago, I knew it was a place where I wanted to work. I loved the brand. In autumn 2019 I felt like I wanted a change and I knew that I had what it takes to be a Roadie.

The constant strive at Columbia Road to always learn more and to be the best at what we do is also something that drew me in. I feel like Columbia Road is in a very exciting phase at the moment and it truly is a company that keeps getting better and better every day.

What makes your heart beat a little faster?

I consider myself a good chef and I really enjoy hosting dinner parties! Of course it is sometimes nice to be on the other side of the table too, so I also really enjoy trying out new restaurants when they pop up in Helsinki. In addition to this, I play floorball in the rock-hard Hakaniemen Playliiga- this year we are heading for gold!
